“Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy & Safe Morcellation” was the title of one of the first Surgical Workshops of the A.M.I. Training Program this autumn.
The Surgical Workshop was directed by PD Dr. Dimitri Sarlos and his team in Aarau, Switzerland. The combination of theory and practice, as well as the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience between the doctors were the focus of the workshop.
Additionally, participants had the opportunity to experience the A.M.I. innovations i-Cut and PelviGYNious live in the operation theatre. In the first surgery, a uterus was successfully removed using the i-Cut.
“The i-Cut has a consistently high cutting performance – even when extracting hard tissue masses. As a single-use solution, it is immediately ready to use and does not require any time-consuming assembling,” says Dr. Sarlos, explaining the use of the morcellator. In a second procedure, PelviGYNious a laparoscopic mesh for the treatment of pelvic floor prolapse, was successfully implanted to correct a prolapsed uterus.
The participants were excited about the surgeries and the possibility to grab some tips & tricks. “A great workshop by Dr. Sarlos and his team with engaging discussions between the participants!”, stated Claude Lanz, CEO of Fumedica in Switzerland, a long-time partner of A.M.I. and co-organizer.
