In cooperation with the Tettnang Clinic, Germany, a surgical workshop on “Urinary Incontinence and Tension-Free Vaginal Slings” was held in September by Dr. Christian Fünfgeld.

The focus of the workshop was on the selection, correct use, and implantation of meshes for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and adjustable slings for the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

“Stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse are unfortunately very common and often, they can be corrected only by surgery,” explains Dr. Christian Fünfgeld. “In recent years, I have performed several hundred implantations and have been able to gain a lot of valuable experience. I am very happy to pass on my knowledge to A.M.I. workshop participants.”

Dr. Christian Fünfgeld is head of the interdisciplinary continence and pelvic floor center in Tettnang, a respected specialist and experienced speaker beyond the borders of Germany. For many years, Dr. Christian Fünfgeld has been sharing his knowledge on urinary incontinence and tension-free vaginal slings with interested participants from all over the world in surgical workshops hosted by A.M.I.
