An issue for many

According to the WHO, overweight and obesity is now a global epidemic -“globesity” – which represents a major health problem in both developed and developing countries.  Heavily overweight people are often treated as social outsiders and the public humiliation they endure may have serious psychological effects. In addition, they usually suffer from other serious illnesses as a result of their obesity. Side effects such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, joint and back problems, and a higher risk of some cancers all place sufferers under huge strain and can shorten their life expectancy. Obesity therefore represents a huge cost to society and it is in everybody’s best interests to use the most effective treatment options available.
